Technology in the classroom.

"It's not what the software does, it's what the user does with the software."

There is doubt that there are constant advances in technology, and while they're advancing our children are becoming social networking nuts! In the past, you had to be a certain age before you could join a social networking site but not anymore. Now, thirteen year olds are joining sites and they have 150 friends!
Before you know it, our children wont know what a book feels like. With eReaders,  iPads and everything in between, what's next?

In the classroom, many tools and resources are used daily. While technology can definitely be a crutch, it can also be a useful tool.
There are many educational toys out now that students (and teachers) can benefit from. From handheld toys that teach ABC's to apps that help with memory. There are countless oppurtunities and we need to stay on top of them to give our children an amazing education.

In a classroom I hope to teach in the future, I do think I will try and incorporate educational technology. We need to accept the changes the world is creating and make the best of it. While there can definitely be a limit of how much is used in the classroom, the technology can be a tad exciting for kids to keep their interest.

Either way - we need to provide our students with various oppurtunities!
Learning can be fun & we just need to show them that. :)
